Ash and Akki are teaming up for the first time since their last movie together Khakee in 2004.
The film revolves around Kishen and Mala - two bickering senior citizens who rediscover romance on their 33rd wedding anniversary, when their son gets them into rew mode.
Action Replayy is said to be high on style quotient and emotionally rewarding too.
The film is being produced jointly by Akshay and Vipul Shah. Action Replayy is a film where the two return after a gap of almost three years.
Akshay and Vipul Shah have teamed up to deliver hits a number of times - Aankhen, Waqt, Namastay London and of course the blockbuster Singh is Kinng.
Apart from Action Replay, Ash is working on a number of other movies - Raavan and Crooked with Abhishek, and Endhiran with Rajnikanth.
Akshay has said he was thrilled to be a part of Action Replayy that is set in the 1970s when his father-in-law Rajesh Khanna was hailed as the first superstar.
