The same Swat Valley that’s been so mercilessly raped by the barbaric Taliban is actually a serene idyllic place renowned for its natural beauty and ancient civilization. Swati woodworkers are highly skilled artisans that have been practicing the art of woodworking for centuries. Using their own traditional tools, they carve wondrous works of art out of the region’s famed deodar wood. The dark marble comes from Baluchistan, the largest province by area. Baluchistan is rich in all kinds of mineral resources, and Baluchi marble is used all over Pakistan to decorate facades and veneers of all kinds of buildings. Colors ranging from black, white through to green and even pink make Baluchi marble a low cost yet versatile building solution. What is it with the female form and marble? Indic poets often tend to metaphorically compare feminine beauty with the smooth, luxurious feel of marble. Smooth, yes, but definitely not as cold!

Mehndi is a function celebrated before the wedding day (barat). On the occasion friends and women relatives of the bride get together and apply mehndi on the hands of the bride. Girls sing different songs with dholak and perform a traditional dance called loddi. Bride has to wear yellow dress on the occasion. The girl in yellow dress is a pretty pakistani bride. She has been adorn with flowers, in her hands and hair (gajra). Decoration of the venue is the important factor in making mehndi function more admirable. As we notice in the picture the surroundings of the bride are decorated with the candles and flowers. Traditional style chair is used as a stage, which is furbishing the beauty of the occasion.
Mehndi or rasm e hena is a day for bride and her friends. Group of girls gather to make the function enjoyable. Their songs , dances and their laughter could make the occasion a wonderful amusement for the guests. A beautiful bride and her gorgeous friend are posing for the camera. She proves yet again that the land of the famous sweet Seraiki language has equally sweet ladies. Here we see her in a traditional dress, what appears to be a Sari. Multan, the ancient city of saints, is famous for its Sufi culture, awe-inspiring architecture and of course, the renowned sohn halwa. What we didnt know until now is that it had amazingly attractive inhabitants too!
Here we see Mehak at a lazy Sunday brunch. Some people like weekends while some hate Sundays because of the looming Monday workday. Mehak likes her food, and is somewhat of a gourmand. However, not all eateries can boast of quality buffets, and this is something she realises. Nevertheless, a laid back Sunday brunch is a good opportunity to chat with friends and watch the world go by.
